When Raj Sharma founded Measure Practice Management (MPM) in 2020, he envisioned the software as a powerful tool to support ABA therapy providers in the U.S. However, he never imagined it could also help transform access to therapy for children with autism in under-resourced communities around the world.
In late July of 2022, Marco Esposito, MPM’s Director of Marketing, received a unique email outlining a potential collaboration between MeasurePM, Therapy Volunteers, and underserved communities outside the U.S. Intrigued, Marco shared the idea with Raj, who quickly saw the potential.
“An idea like this never occurred to me,” Raj shared. “But it’s an incredible and creative way to serve others, and it made perfect sense.”
Therapy Volunteers, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to providing pediatric therapy services to underserved communities worldwide, asked MeasurePM to provide its state-of-the-art practice management software to a small ABA therapy clinic in an under-resourced area of Jamaica.
After initial discussions, Raj and Marco requested additional details about the regions Therapy Volunteers serves. The Therapy Volunteers team worked diligently to compile the requested documents and submitted them to MPM. Within days, they received good news: MPM would provide its software free of charge to specific approved Therapy Volunteers locations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
“I was in a state of elated shock,” said Quinn, one of the founders and president of Therapy Volunteers. “This is phenomenal news. Thanks to the generosity and vision of MeasurePM, communities in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the therapists who serve them, will gain access to software that would otherwise be out of reach.”
One of the first clinics to benefit from this partnership is the Montego Bay Autism Center in Jamaica, founded by BCBA Adama Blagrove. Adama is thrilled to see how MPM can change the way her team operates.
“We’ve been doing everything manually with paper and pencil,” Adama explained. “Scheduling, tracking appointments, mapping out programs and goals, and taking ABA data—all of it was done by hand. It wasn’t ideal, but it was all we had—until now.”
With the implementation of MeasurePM, Adama’s team is hopeful about the time they’ll save and the impact that efficiency will have on their work.
“This will be a game changer for us and the families we serve,” Adama said. “Every minute saved through MeasurePM is a minute we can give back to the children and their therapy. Knowing that Therapy Volunteers and MeasurePM care enough to make this happen fills my heart. I see it as divine intervention—an act of God’s hand guiding us to this partnership.”
This collaboration is yet another example of Therapy Volunteers’ ongoing mission to bring innovative solutions to under-resourced communities, ensuring that children with autism have access to life-changing therapies.
