Therapy Volunteers, a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, is expanding its mission to deliver pediatric therapies to underserved communities by launching two new locations this summer. The new programs will be located in Honduras and Ecuador, two countries where access to essential pediatric therapy services remains limited.
Idar Lamo, Director of International Partnerships at Therapy Volunteers, is excited about the expansion. “Our mission is to provide access to pediatric therapy services in underserved communities, and we are thrilled to expand our impact to Honduras and Ecuador,” Lamo said. “We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are proud to be working toward that goal.”
The new programs will focus on providing speech, occupational, physical, and behavioral therapies to children in need, enhancing their quality of life and giving them the support they need to thrive. With this expansion, Therapy Volunteers aims to continue fostering partnerships with local organizations and communities, making pediatric therapy services more accessible throughout Latin America.
“We are committed to collaborating closely with local communities and organizations to ensure our programs meet the unique needs of the children we serve,” Lamo added. “Our goal is to create a lasting impact that benefits both the children and their families for years to come.”
The launch of the new programs in Honduras and Ecuador marks a significant step toward Therapy Volunteers’ long-term vision of delivering pediatric therapy services to all underserved communities in Latin America.
“Our organization is driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and families in need,” Lamo concluded. “We believe that every child deserves access to the care and support necessary to thrive, and we will continue to work tirelessly toward that goal.”
The expansion of Therapy Volunteers’ mission is a testament to the organization’s dedication to enhancing access to life-changing therapies for underserved communities. With continued growth and community engagement, Therapy Volunteers is determined to leave a lasting, positive impact on children and families across Latin America.
